About PrecisionPrep

Study material built by a team that actually does this work.

PrecisionPrep is written and maintained by a team of compliance professionals with hands-on experience inside CIRO-regulated dealers. We're not a test-prep company guessing at what the exam covers from the outside; we're the people who've sat in the seat the exam is testing.

Who's behind it

Written by people who've lived it

Most exam-prep material is written once and left alone. Ours isn't. PrecisionPrep is built and kept current by a team of compliance professionals with more than twelve years of combined, hands-on experience in the exact areas the CIRO proficiency exams test. This isn't a summary of the rulebook written from a distance. It's material shaped by people who have actually done the job.

12+
Years in Compliance

That experience spans the day-to-day work a Supervisor is actually responsible for. It's exactly why the guide leans so heavily on worked examples and judgment-call scenarios instead of just restating rules.

1

Content & Curriculum

Every element is drafted by people who work in compliance day to day, then mapped directly against CIRO's published syllabus weighting.

2

Technical Review

Every worked example, rule explanation, and scenario question is checked against the current rulebook before an edition goes out.

3

Candidate Feedback

Real feedback from people who've sat the exam is reviewed and folded into the next edition, not just filed away.

How it gets better

Shaped by the people who've actually sat the exam

Every edition of a PrecisionPrep guide is shaped by feedback from real candidates: people who used an earlier version, sat the exam, and came back to tell us what worked and what didn't.

A candidate tells us where it fell short. Not enough numeric examples, not enough scenario practice, a section that needed more structure: real feedback from someone who just wrote the exam.
We rebuild around that gap. If test-takers say the real exam leans harder on situational judgment than a plain rules summary prepared them for, that becomes the next edition's focus, not an afterthought.
The next candidate starts from a stronger guide. And when they come back with their own feedback afterward, the cycle repeats.
Why one guide

One guide, not ten open tabs

Studying for a CIRO proficiency exam usually means stitching together the official syllabus, the rulebook, old notes, a study-group chat, and whatever you can find searching each topic one at a time.

The goal is simple: put the knowledge a candidate actually needs in one place, structured the way the exam is weighted, instead of leaving them to go find it, topic by topic, on their own.

That's the whole premise PrecisionPrep is built on. Every guide is organized exactly the way its syllabus is weighted, so study time goes toward what the exam actually tests, in the order it matters most.
